Saint Nicholas

Nowadays, "Santa Claus" is employed to sell all types of things and almost nobody remembers his true history. It is time that Christians recover and take back our saint and we teach our children that Christmas is the celebration of the Birth of God made child. Let us remember then that Saint Nicholas was a Holy Bishop that was preoccupied for the poor, and especially the children, and became famous for his charity

FIRST MONDAY
Saint Nicholas, by the precious Blood of my Lord Jesus Christ which He spilled in the street of Bitterness, by the crown of thorns they placed on His Most Holy Head, by the slap they gave Him on His Most Sacred Rostrum, by the slashes they inflicted on his Most Holy Side; O divine love! For the scourging they inflicted upon His most holy back, for the pain that His Most Holy Mother felt on the street of Bitterness, when she saw Him fall carrying the Cross for our sins; for all that He felt in his most Holy Passion and for the most abundant Blood that He spilled; for all this I plead to you, Saint Nicholas, that you intercede for the needs and afflictions that surround me, and you give me a favorable response to all my afflictions.
Make now your petition and then say three times: "Saint Nicholas, hear me". Then conclude with the final Praise and Prayer

SECOND MONDAY
Pray the same prayer you prayed on the First Monday. Then make your petition and say three times: "Saint Nicholas, guide me". Then conclude with the final Praise and Prayer

THIRD MONDAY
Pray the same prayer you prayed on the First Monday. Then make your petition and say three times: "Saint Nicholas, come for my petition;". Then conclude with the final Praise and Prayer

PRAISE

Full of sweet hope
today I come to you, my saint,
as I trust in your goodness
in finding my happiness.

I know well that my confidence
will not be let down,
and that I will see
my fervent petition answered,
as you will calm the affliction
of this anguished soul.

FINAL PRAYER

Most glorious Saint Nicholas, humble and virtuous Archbishop of Myra, remember that it has not been heard said that your favors do not reach those who approach you in their tribulations.
I trust in you, I wait for you and I ask you that you be my interpreter for God Our Lord, with the end of obtaining this grace that with my whole soul I ask you. Be my guide, be my safeguard and purify my soul. Amen.

OUR FATHER

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven
Hallowed Be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Liberate us from all temptation[*]
And deliver us from all evil. Amen

[*] Liberate us is in keeping with the original Latin text.
       God usually does not "lead us" to temptation
       (unless we are tested),
       but gives us the grace to overcome and/or resist it

HAIL MARY

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art though among women,
And blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mary of God
Pray for us sinners
Now, and in the hour
Of our death. Amen

APOSTLE'S CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His Only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the
[work and grace of the] Holy Ghost,[*]
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into the Dead.[**]
On the third day, He rose again;
He ascended into Heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty.
From thence he shall come to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost,[*]
The Holy Catholic Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins.
The resurrection of the body,
And life everlasting. Amen

[*] Holy Ghost: may be substituted with the current Holy Spirit.
[**] the Dead: "inferi", the underworld or the dead in Latin.

GLORIA

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost[*],
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

DE PROFUNDIS

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord:
Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thine ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplication.

If thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities:
Lord, who shall abide it.
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness:
and because of Thy law,
I have waited for Thee, O Lord.

My soul hath waited on His word:
my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning-watch even until night,
let Israel hope in the Lord.

For with the Lord there is mercy:
and with Him plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel
from all her iniquities.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost[*],
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

[*] Holy Ghost: may be substituted with the current Holy Spirit.

Pope Leo XIII, February 3, 1888)

Let us pray:
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all
the faithful, we beseech Thee to grant
to the souls of Thy servants the remission
of their sins, so that by our prayers
they may obtain pardon for which they long.
O Lord, who lives and reigns,
world without end. Amen

May they rest in peace. Amen

Desde lo hondo a Ti grito, Seor; Seor,
escucha mi voz;
Estn Tus oidos atentos
a la voz de mi splica.

Si llevas cuenta de los delitos, Seor,
quin podr resistir?
Pero de ti procede el perdn,
y as infundes respeto.
Mi alma espera en el Seor.

Espera en su palabra;
mi alma aguarda al Seor,
ms que el centinela la aurora.
Aguarda Israel al Seor.

Como el centinela la aurora;
porque del Seor viene la misericordia.
la redencin copiosa;
y l redimir a Israel de todos sus delitos.

Gloria al Padre, al Hijo y al
Espritu Santo,
como es desde el principio,
es ahora y ser por los siglos de los siglos.
